For schools · no cost

Whatever makes your school kinder

We give schools what they need to make the place kinder — and we let the children decide what that is. There's no cost, and we cover the Fylde coast.

What we provide

Some of what we've sent so far

This is what's been needed so far, not a menu. If your school needs something else, ask us anyway.

Buddy benches

Somewhere to sit when you've got nobody to sit with, and a signal to everyone else that you'd welcome company. They do a lot of work for a bench.

A raised wooden planter with young seedlings in school grounds.

Planters

Something a group can plant and look after together, which turns out to be a good way to get children talking sideways rather than face-on.

A bird feeder hanging from a tree in a school garden.

Bird feeders

Small, calm, and something to watch when you need a minute away from it all.

School uniform folded on the shelves at the hub — white and pale blue polo shirts, white blouses, navy jumpers, black trousers and red cardigans.

School uniforms

No child should stand out because their family can't stretch to the right jumper. Tell us the size and we'll do our best.

Prom outfits too

We provide prom outfits from the community hub for children who can’t afford one and would otherwise not go. Tell us the size, the style and the colour, and we’ll do what we can.

Pupils decide

Your pupils choose

We don’t decide what your school is short of — your youth champions do. They’re the ones hearing about it.

Working with Lancaster University we surveyed 400 schools, and 85% of children said they wouldn’t tell a parent or a teacher, but they would tell a classmate. So that’s who we work with.

How to apply

Tell us what you need

Fill in the grant form and tell us what you need. If it’s a uniform or a prom outfit, include the size, style and colour.

We do ask one thing back: that your school helps with fundraising for us occasionally — a non-uniform day, or something your youth champions organise. It’s what keeps the resources flowing to the next school on the list.
