Grants terms and conditions

Once we have received your grant request form with your order or request details, and any engraving that may be needed, and it has been approved by the board of trustees, we can only make alterations if your order has not been processed with any supplier — whether your own or one you have requested from Kindness Counts UK.

If your own supplier has their own terms and conditions, that is between you and your supplier. Kindness Counts UK only supply the funds requested for the stated anti-bullying resources and equipment.

If changes are to be made prior to processing with a supplier, another new grant request form will need to be completed.

This only applies to handmade furniture and will be set out in your completed grant request form. Kindness Counts UK would normally only provide funds to the supplier you have stated within your completed form.

Kindness Counts UK do not pay for delivery or installation of any furniture or equipment. We provide the items for you to use within your school or organisation as an anti-bullying tool or resource. However, if we can deliver it ourselves we will, or we will negotiate free delivery in most cases.

If you decide to cancel your grant request, and it has not been processed and delivered for use as set out in your grant request form, that is acceptable and the funds will be diverted to another school or organisation elsewhere in the community.

If you have taken delivery, you would become liable for recollection charges. A trustee cannot collect it.

Kindness Counts UK do not supply any warranties or guarantees — this is between you and your supplier. Kindness Counts UK are only involved in generating the funds so that we can pay for the equipment requested.

Kindness Counts UK do not supply insurance and do not enter into any risks in the construction or fixing down of any equipment provided. These responsibilities are yours.

Kindness Counts UK only provide the funds for you to be able to have the items requested in your completed grant request form. As regards singular or personal items, whatever is provided from Kindness Counts UK to your school, it is the full responsibility of the school to distribute the items appropriately among your students — you and only you know them, and their full details and medical history.

Post boxes and multi community or school resources — including our outdoor signage and sunshines — remain the property of Kindness Counts UK.

If you find they are not working in your school for whatever reason they will be reallocated. Likewise, if Kindness Counts UK find an area within the community or another school is in greater need, the post box will be reallocated.

Kindness Counts UK do not take responsibility for your children while they are on or within the Kindness Counts UK Community Hub premises. They must at all times be accompanied either by a school mentor, a pastoral lead, or their parent or guardian.

When filling out grant request forms for activities, please also send the parents' consent form so that we have it on file before the session or appointment commences.

Kindness Counts UK take health and safety, risk assessment and safeguarding checks very seriously. All volunteers we use have DBS checks in place, and risk assessments are carried out before we open daily and checked periodically throughout the day. Kindness Counts UK also only use fully insured and DBS-checked counselling services under a governing body.
