An evening at the Gardeners Arms

Christy Joyce, a professional singer, spent her Wednesday evening singing for us at the Gardeners Arms, and would not take a penny for it. By the end of the night £102 had been raised.

The part we liked best was not on the bill. Christy handed the microphone to Hannah, one of the young people we teach, and let her sing to a full room. Standing up in front of a crowd is not a small thing at any age, and getting the chance to do it alongside someone who sings for a living is the sort of evening you remember.

Thank you to Christy, to the Gardeners Arms for having us, and to everyone who came out on a Wednesday and put their hands in their pockets.
